U11 – Sparrow vs APSS 3

Last Saturday, the Sparrow U11 team played a league game against APSS 3 at Cherry Street Park.
Sparrow started out well in the first 2 minutes , with Musashi (the Playmaker) looking for an opportunity to get to our offensive wings, Joao Pedro (Samba) and Erik Salas (Wonder Boy), who would get the ball and try to pass it to our striker Gishaan (El Niño). Unfortunately, a slight mistake in centre field, left us outnumbered and Pearl and Connor couldn’t do much to stop the counter attack and we conceded a goal very early in the game.

Despite Sparrow’s effort to get back into the game and having a few chances to score, we just couldn’t reach the last third of the field in order to try to shoot and score.

A few changes were made in the second half, Nate came on to help the team which he did a good job in defending against APSS’ counter attack.

A penalty was given in favor of Sparrow, but we failed to score the goal. The game ended with a disappointing score of 5 – 0.

Obviously, this is not the result we wanted but it definitely did not reflect the effort and experience gained!
This gives us more opportunity to work on our weaknesses and focus on our next one.
As always FIGHT AS ONE!!!
